TJ grew up across the Tasman in New Zealand and graduated from the University of Otago in 2011. After graduating from university, he migrated to Sydney where he worked in private practice for 2 years. He recently made the move to Melbourne where he has since continued to work in a musculoskeletal setting before joining the team at Balwyn Sports & Physiotherpay Centre in 2014. TJ is fluent in Mandarin.
Since becoming a certified sports medic and physiotherapist, TJ has been actively involved with teams and athletes of all levels from a variety of sports such as netball, basketball, athletics, rugby union, soccer, running, and cycling.
He has experience working with a variety of musculoskeletal injuries stemming from poor posture to traumatic sporting injuries. He uses a ‘hands on’ approach complemented with techniques such as dry needling, clinical pilates, and exercise prescription to address the root cause and develop a plan for long term relief and prevention.
TJ has a keen interest in running and cycling biomechanics which is fuelled by his inolvement in the sport. He has completed various half marathons and has recently taken his running off road, running in the Salomon Trail Series 2014.
He loves being outdoors and recently made the long walk to Everest Base Camp, Nepal. In his spare time, he can be found on his bike or planning his next adventure.
