Tom Davey is our new podiatrist at BSPC!

Problems that podiatrists most commonly encounter include:

  • Sporting injuries of the foot ankle and lower leg (acute and chronic)
  • Diabetic foot management (No Gap on EPC visits)
  • Ankle sprains
  • Arthritis pain
  • Children’s foot injuries
  • Heel pain
  • Nerve pain
  • Flat feet/ Arch pain
  • Blister management
  • Fungal toenails
  • Skin and nail conditions
  • Ingrown toenails + toenail surgery

We also have 3D foot scanning for full customised orthotics at the clinic, and also have the facilities to deal with non-displaced bone fractures.

The foot is such a complex structure podiatrists focus on the lower leg and foot for 4 year at university and then, their whole career.

If there is an issue with the foot, it can be responsible for knee, hip back and even neck pain.

At Balwyn Sports and Physiotherapy, our highly trained podiatrist and physiotherapists work together to ensure we don’t miss a thing from head to toe.

What to expect at a podiatry appointment:

  • We listen and understand the patients problem.
  • We complete a detailed history of the patient and make sure the patient goals are outlined to be able to work towards.
  • If the consult is biomechanical in nature, bringing footwear and wearing shorts would be appropriate for us to complete a foot and lower limb biomechanical assessment.
  • If the patient is diabetic or has any concerns about blood flow or sensation, we will conduct a full neurovascular/diabetic assessment with a report sent back to the G.P.
