James Smith qualified as a Myotherapist in 2017 at MIMT and has been remedial and sports massage since 2010. James has an extensive science background as well as a diverse work background having worked in sports clubs, police communications (SPC/000), active military service (ASM) as well as the CFA. These life skills enables James to personalise and manage your treatment outcome no matter who you are.
James has is currently involved with the Monbulk Football Netball Club (with Olinda FNC since 2011, Head Netball trainer 2015/6). James has also worked in the corporate massage industry as well as for many charities and research for PRACI.
In 2015 James was awarded Yarra Valley Mountain District Football Netball League’s ‘Trainer of the Year.’
James is definitely passionate and interested in his work and is always determined to get your desired outcome. Customer care is of the highest priority. James works with athletes to the everyday active person, office workers and the elderly. James has a strong working knowledge on the body, they way you should feel and how you should move.
Interests include; good clinical assessment, postural correction, targeted deep tissue work including techniques such as trigger point therapy, Chinese cupping, transverse friction, muscle energy techniques and PNF stretching. Skilled at Dry needling.
James works strictly to your level of comfort during treatment.
