Tom grew up in the Goulburn Valley and completed his Bachelor of Health Science with a Masters in Podiatric Practice at La Trobe University Bendigo. Tom then moved to Melbourne where he has been working in the private practice setting and recently joined the team at Balwyn Sports & Physiotherapy Centre in 2018.
Tom is most passionate about treating musculoskeletal conditions of the lower leg and foot. From the acute or chronic ankle sprains to the everyday aches and pains of arthritic joints, Tom uses a mix of hands on approach including mobilisations and manipulations combined with targeted exercise programs to address each injury.
Qualifications in Podiatry combined with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science also provides Tom with an extensive understanding of lower limb biomechanics and allows him to implement strength and conditioning into his treatment programs.
Tom is experienced in custom orthotic prescription to aid in the treatment of both sporting injuries and the everyday lower limb aches and pain. Tom is also skilled in lower limb dry needling and toe nail surgery.
Having come from a strong sporting background of hockey and tennis, Tom has experienced many foot and ankle injuries and aspires to get everyone back to their best. Outside of work you will find Tom 4WDriving, fishing or on the local hockey field. He is currently planning his next trip to Frasier Island.

Tom’s biggest dislike:
The OVERPRESCRIPTION of orthotics
People NOTKNOWING why they have orthotics
“If you are STRONG enough and your foot moves well enough you should not need orthotics. Of course, I use them when I need to. However, if somebody does not want to see me because they think I will just put them in orthotics (this is a more common thought than you think) I can confidently say I will try everything before we get to that stage. Then, if that time comes, I will explain why.” – Tom Davey.
