Dana graduated from Latrobe University in 1994 completing her Bachelor of Science- Physiotherapy. Dana has worked in both England and South Carolina, USA. It was during her time working in the states that Dana completed her Comprehensive Stott Pilates training in Toronto, Canada 2002. Since then Dana developed a special interest in Clinical Pilates as an exercise system for Rehabilitation and is passionate about enhancing clients return to optimal functioning and wellness with Pilates both as an assessment tool and intelligent movement system.
Currently Dana is studying Applied Movement Neurology, studying the complexity of the brain and how it affects the body’s muscles and movement and how the brain can be utilized to influence movement control, co-ordination, flexibility, muscle imbalances and posture.
Dana also utilises Whole Body Vibration Therapy. This scientifically supported therapy uses vibration to stimulate the body in a variety of unique and beneficial ways such as increasing muscle strength, spinal nerve activation, postural strengthening, increase bone density, balance and flexibility.
It is Dana’s integration of Physiotherapy with Pilates, Applied Movement Neurology, Whole Body Vibration that makes her movement therapy sessions uniquely holistic.
Dana is a local to the area and outside of work keeps very busy with three children.
Continued learning is very important to Dana and when she falls into bed at night there is a tall pile of books, articles and podcasts eagerly awaiting her attention.
Dana loves travels and visits Pilates Studios and therapists wherever she can on her travels. One of her dreams is to travel from east coast to west coast of United states visiting the many Pilates therapists and studios that specialize in movement therapy. Closer to home, Dana loves to spend some time at the beach.
