Gaurav, Senior Physiotherapist

Gaurav Bhirud is an enthusiastic and highly experienced Senior Sports Physiotherapist with over 13 years of clinical and leadership experience across Australia and India. His journey began in Mumbai, where he completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy, before moving to Australia to earn a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports) from the University of South Australia.

Since then, he has continually expanded his skills, earning prestigious qualifications including the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine and the IOC Diploma in Sports Physical Therapies.

Gaurav’s expertise lies in musculoskeletal and sports injury management, with a special interest in lower limb soft tissue injuries. He integrates clinical Pilates, strength and conditioning, GEMt dry needling, exercise prescription, taping, and acute injury management into tailored rehab plans for athletes at all levels. His credentials also include certifications as an ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach and EXOS Performance Specialist—making him uniquely positioned to bridge rehab and performance.

He’s worked with athletes across a wide range of sports, including soccer, boxing, wrestling, kabaddi, cricket, ice hockey and tennis. Gaurav has served in key roles such as Lead Physiotherapist for Moreland City FC (NPL Senior Men’s Team), Clinical Supervisor at Back In Motion Health Group, and currently as Principal Physiotherapist with Football Victoria.

Beyond the clinic, Gaurav is passionate about professional development and regularly mentors physiotherapists and health professionals. He’s a firm believer in the power of movement to heal, motivate, and transform—living by the mantra “Movement is Medicine.”

Outside of work, Gaurav is a self-declared foodie who enjoys cooking for friends, watching soccer, and exploring financial planning. With a warm personality, global perspective, and dedication to excellence, Gaurav brings both skill and heart to everything he does.
